38. Are they getting the essential provisions like rice, wheat, kerosence etc.l from the public distribution system? Yes they are getting every month essential commodities in their respective area through Fair Price
Shops.

39. Are the fair price shops under the under the PDS being provided in all the SC/ST clomes where the required no. of family cards are available? Yes Most of the F.P. Shops existing in the SC/ST colonies/Tandas in the district. If any F.P. shop
required in SC/ST colonies through the recommendation of the concerned RDO FP Shops will be
opened.

40. Have all the SC/ST villages in the district, particularly in tribal habitations been covered by health facilities? There are many Tribal Habitations in Narayankhed & Narsapur sectors where in
our services are reaching them through ASHAs and ANMs. We have 8 PHCs
(Kangti, Karasgutti,Manoor, Nizampet, Shankarampet-A, Sirgapur, Kowdipally
and Reddypally) in that area covering entire Tribal population.

41. Are there any diseases, which specifically affect the SCs/STs? (Please furnish the number of details reported among the SCs/STs due to malnutrition and due to contagious diseases).
We do not have any reports of specific disorders or diseases pertaining to only ST
Community in the District. there are 1 or 2 reports of food poisoning cases where in the
people ate stale food.
As far as deaths are concerned no death reported in 2010-11 & 2011-12 so far
due to contagious diseases.
Under Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) in 2010-11 2480 in 2011-12 380 women
were paied with Rs.700 each.

42. Do all the SC/ST villages have their own burial ground? Most of the ST villages are not having their own burial grounds
43. If not how to they dispose of the dead bodies? They are disposing the dead bodies in the combined burial grounds and in their own lands

construction of ISLs ST colonies and they are construing ISL's from the funds released by
the Government there are no dry latrines existing.

51. Do you think that the programme is popular? The people in ST colonies are using individual sanitary latrines and the system of dry
latrines is not in existence.

55. What are the suggestions of the District Collector to improve the socio economic conditions of the SCs/STs? • Women empowerment is very much necessary to improve the Socio economical conditions of the SC & STs in the scheduled areas.
• The functioning of primary health centers in scheduled areas should be improved.
• Institutional Deliveries should be encouraged: Create awareness among the tribal pregnant women on general gynaic problems at the time of delivery and encourage them to • Family disputes have to be resolved through arbitrators / Legal aid programmes. • Regulate child marriages especially in Scheduled Tribes so as to avoid early age sickness in the women.
• Increase the literacy rate in tribal areas, the drop outs must be reduced to the minimum and see that the children should attend the school regularly.
• Ensure skill development of the women in tribal areas and make them to do their business on their own confidently. • Periodical review should be conducted and feed back must be taken from the members of Self Help Groups, Close supervision is needed for effective implementation of Government schemes.
• Middleman / Mediator interference should be eliminated at the time of selling of Minor Forest Product in scheduled areas.
• Off season work should be provided so as to enable them to get some income.
• Employment Guarantee scheme should be implemented effectively. • To reduce the Indebt ness of the SC & STs and regulate the role of money lenders through the Acts in force • Illicit Lickers must be banned in tribal areas.
• Credit facilities should be provided to each family with out Collateral agreements so as to avoid money lenders role.
• Minor irrigation shall be improved so as to cultivate the land of SCs & STs and improve the productivity.
• Watershed programmes should be implemented effectively.
• Land reforms should be implemented in tribal areas effectively.
• Tribal Act i.e. Implementation of 1/70 Act should enforced effectively • A.P. Micro Finance Institution (Regulation of money lending) Act 2010 should be enforced effectively. • The improvement of Social & Economical conditions in general and in STs & SCs mostly depend on Social sector i.e. health, education, drinking water, sanitation and women empowerment.
56. Is there child labour in this district" If so, please furnish the details viz the industries/.Occupation. In which they are employed and the action taken by the State Government to prevent it? There are no Child Labour found working in organised sectors (Industries / Factories). Where as
child labour is still reported in Shops & Establishments domestic help and agricultural activities the
District. Where ever the Child Labour detected in Shops & Establishments prosecutions being
initiated. During the year 2010 (354) Child Labour detected and legal action initiated, filling the
claims and prosecutions and And during the months from January 2011 to July 2011 (293) cases
were detected claims were filed and prosecutions are initiated.;

A Special initiative was taken up by the District Collector by involving all important functioneries like
NCLP, Labour Dept.,RVM , UNICEF and other NGOs in the district. 6706 out of school children were
identified & enrolled during a special drive held in the month of June and July 2011 only 865
childrens have to be enrolled. Further 73 cases registered by Labour Department under Child
Labour Act in the month of August 2011. District Collector has been closly monitoring to see that
the district is Child Labour free in the near future.

a) SHGs of ST Women and their activities • In the Medak District 2,390 ST Self Help Groups consisting of 28,675 women are existing.
• The majority of ST SHGs are concentrated in 17 mandals in Medak, Narayankhed and Narsapur Clusters.
The following are the activities of ST SHG Women in the district 1. Dairy2. Milk Products3. Agriculture labor4. Rearing cattle / poultry ( Sheep, Goat and Cows )5. Vegetable cultivation 6. Pulses cultivation 7. Minor irrigation8. leasing of Sugarcane crops9. Transportation of Sugarcane from fields to Factory on Bullock carts10. Forest products11. Bricks making 2390 ST SHGs existing. Activities are livestock rearing, Agriculture and allied activities.

b) Extent and role of Cooperatives among tribal groups in various ocupations.
Term loans and crop loans to farmers, bank linkage for various Economic Supprort Schemes
through District Cooperative central banks & ICDP programme

c) Self Employment Schemes to STs under various employment generation schemes and the approach of land banks towards ST applicants. Swarnajayanthi Gram Sswarozgar Yojana Scheme is a holistic approach towards poverty
eradication in rural areas through creation of self-employment opportunities to the rural
Swarozgaries. It is designed to help poor rural families to cross the poverty line. This is
achieved through providing income generating assets and inputs to the target groups
through a package of assistance consisting of subsidy and bank loan.

During the year 2010-11 an amount of Rs.128.38 lakhs were sanctioned to 1284 SC/ST
POPs @ 10,000/- each), 1490 Milch Animals @ 10,000/- per unit has been sanctioned to the
1490 SC/ST beneficiaries. Under SGSY Individual Income Generation Activity 110 units
were earmarked for SC/STs in which the subsidy portion per each unit is Rs.10,000/-.
Further Rs.90.00 lakhs also released to SC/ST beneficiaries under Income Generation
Activity.

During the year 2011-12 an amount of Rs 130.00 lakhs released under 50% SC ST POP.
Employment Generation and Marketing Mission (EGMM) established to provide
employment to literate and illiterate unemployed youth of SHG families by giving training
and skill development.

During the year 2010-2011, 38 Job melas were conducted in the district to provide
employment to Rural Youth in various companies. 5,632 candidates provided placements
in various companies directly and imparted trainings to them.

During the year 2011-2012, 554 candidates provided placements in various companies
directly and imparted trainings to them.

Employment generation is done through Rajiv Yuva Shakti, Pashu Kranthi, SGSY,
Econonomic Supprort Scheme by TRICOR

d) Activity profile of DRDA in tribal habitations.
District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) is the principal agency to implement poverty
alleviation programmes at District level. Under Chairmanship of the District Collector,
DRDA is implementing number of programmes for eradicating of Rural poverty. Indira
Kranthi Patham (IKP) is the programme being implemented by the DRDA in Andhra
Pradesh.

Self Help Groups (SHGs):
Before commencement of the IKP project, the DRDA started formation of Self Help
Groups. After implementation of the project the formation of groups is accelerated. At
present there are 40,214 Self Help Groups consisting of 4,82,568 members in the District
out of this No.of STs groups are 2,413 and No.of SCs groups are 7,641. All 40,214 are
federated into 1,470 Village Organizations, 46 Mandal Samakhyas and One Zilla
Samakhya.

The Zilla Samakhya review and advise the Mandal Samakhya on implementation of
various schemes of IKP-DRDA for effective grounding.

IKP has been planning, Co-ordinating and Monitoring various Economic Support Schmes
and self employement schemes through banks
