Section 4: FIRST AID MEASURES

First Aid Measures:
Consult the National Poisons Centre on 0800 POISON (0800 764 766) or a doctor immediately in every case of suspected poisoning.
Inhalation:
Remove patient to fresh air. Lay down and keep warm and rested. If breathing is shal ow or has stopped ensure airway is clear and apply resuscitation. Seek medical assistance
Ingestion:

Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. If swal owed DO NOT induce vomiting. For advice, contact the National Poisons Centre on 0800 POISON (0800 764 766). Remove contaminated clothing and wash affected area thoroughly with soap and water. If a large area is affected seek medical assistance. Flush with plenty of water for 15 minutes holding eyelids open if necessary. Call a doctor
Advice to Doctor:

No specific antidote. Treat symptomatical y. If vomiting is induced, suggest endotracheal and/or oesophageal control. Danger from lung aspiration must be weighed against toxicity Section 5: FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES

Wear appropriate protective clothing. Exclude non-essential people from the area. Contain spil and absorb with inert material such as soil, sand or absorbent granules and place in a sealable waste container. Dispose of waste safely in an approved landfil .

Store in original container tightly closed and in a locked, dry, cool area away from foodstuffs, fertiliser and seed. Store in accordance with NZS 8409; Management of Agrichemicals. This product is subject to signage and secondary containment when stored in quantities of 100 litres or more, either alone or in aggregate with substances of the same hazard classification. Not normally a hazard due to non-volatile nature of product. The material is not thought to produce either adverse health effects or irritation of the respiratory tract fol owing
Ingestion:
Albendazole: Oral LD50; 2400 mg/kg (rat)
Accidental ingestion of the material may be harmful. Benzimidazole carbamate anthelmintics, used at doses for treatment, have produced al ergic reaction (which may be associated with destruction of parasites), raised liver enzyme values, and may be associated with loss of white cel s and hair. Extremely large oral doses may produce intestinal cramps, loss of appetite, lethargy, lung bleeding, oedema, liver and epicardial bleeding, and nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. Other symptoms include dizziness, giddiness, ringing in the ears, sleeplessness, anxiety, confusion, convulsions, hal ucinations and headache. Overdose may produce gastrointestinal symptoms, visual disturbance and psychic changes. These drugs are Entry into the blood-stream, through for example, cuts, abrasions or lesions, may produce systemic injury with harmful effects. May cause skin irritation on prolonged contact. Is a
